"The future is uncertain and the end is always near". These bleak lyrics written by Jim Morrison, lead singer and chief lyricist of The Doors, come from their song Roadhouse Blues. The distressing sentiment, unfortunately, is poignant in this pandemic crisis. However, there are words from another that bring much more comfort. These words are those spoken by Jesus to his disciples after eating his final meal with them. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) Life is hard these days and while the future might seem uncertain, in Jesus we can rest and find peace, and that’s hopeful.

We had planned on resuming ball hockey leagues with spring break coming to a close. Unfortunately, however, due to health authorities currently recommending the closure of all non-essential services, our facility must remain closed. Our facility will remain closed to the public and our programs will stay on hold until health authorities inform us it is safe to reopen. The staff and board of The Ark would like to urge all people to do as they have been asked by practicing phy...sical distancing and staying home if you are sick. We wish to also remind you that even though things seem out of our control, it is not out of the control of our Jesus. Colossians 1:15-17 15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him, all things hold together. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our planned drop-in events for tomorrow.

UPDATE: The drop-in events planned for this week have been cancelled. With spring break here we have already suspended our regular program, however, we have planned a Family Drop-in event for each Wednesday over the break. We recognize the need to be very vigilant about the suggested protocols by healthcare professionals. Currently, they are suggesting that gatherings of greater than 50 people are to be avoided. As our drop-in numbers are generally lower, we plan to continue with the drop-in events. Another of these protocols is to take extra care in sanitization. With this in mind, please take note that we are doing our due diligence by sanitizing the entrance door, counters and other surface areas.
