Rue Morgue magazine just released their summer edition today. A few weeks ago, they had asked me to paint them a cover that featured a Plague Doctor and I was more than happy to oblige. I worked rather loosely with this one... imagining the textures and paint strokes to travel like a virus. I'll show off the full painting soon. Until then, order yourself a copy!

My short "Moonwalk" film for Hand Of The Tribe has been selected by The African Film Festival - TAFF... and guess what? It's now OPEN! June 2nd - June 6th. This is the final version of "superhero". My intention was to take on the 'superhero' archetype (something I haven't done), and try something new in this quiet time... but I'll admit the last month has crept into this piece and taken it for a turn. It's difficult to process what many frontline workers around the world are witnessing... what they are going through... how hard they are working... and how helpless they are feeling as more people slip away in front of them. Years... ago, my band (Johnny Hollow) wrote a song called "superhero" and it's regained some popularity as of late (it recently hit 1.3 million streams Spotify). We've been playing with the idea of doing a vinyl release of this song and I've been itching to work on a cover for it. So, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing with this piece as of yet, I may do a limited print run... it may be the cover of a 12 inch vinyl.... maybe both? See more

This photo is way more melodramatic than its intention... before the paint flies and the HB pencils are sharpened... theres... the wait. Waiting for some crazy notion to inspire artistic action. The trick is to not get to distracted during this time or that notion wont arrive anytime soon. Embracing it is key for me. This is my waiting chair and this is my waiting pose. In a sea of flexing, smiling, making-the-best-if-it, INSTA-faces, I thought Id provide you all with a little contrast today.

Another face shield / neck gaiter design... This one is called "Watchful Hummers". I created this collection because I couldn't find many design options out there for when I go grocery shopping or step out of the house during these very strange days. They are printed as they are ordered and go out in the mail 2 - 7 days after each purchase. Go to my site to see the entire collection. Side note ~ They are produced by the same company that does my pillows (which I'm very happy with) , as soon as I receive my samples of the order, I'll post them... having said that, I thought I'd make the collection available now in case other people didn't want to wait. IMPORTANT ~ These are not medical grade masks. Nor are they meant to replace social distancing or hand washing which is currently the best way to flatten the curve.

I basically did these because I wanted to wear something that had a dark but whimsical aesthetic.

"THE ISOLATION GAME" ~ I created this piece at the beginning of our isolation period during the Covid19 pandemic. Our little homes have become our entire worlds as we wait for better news. This bizarre bone cage floating in black space represents our fear of an unknown future (skull blinded by the moth) as we take refuge to protect ourselves and each other. The flora and fauna inside it is meant to acknowledge our perseverance as we move through this strange new world. The two birds with a string between them are meant to serve as a reminder that we are not alone even though sometimes it may feel that way. This piece is now available with the WOW x WOW art exhibit. It's a one of a kind print on wood transfer and hand embellished work... contact me if you are interested.
