Remembrance Day 2020 We weren’t sure if we would be able to do our annual free breakfast for veteran’s and active service people this year due to the devastating effects of COVID on small business... but then we remembered the devastating effects that COVID has had on small business and that doing this small deed for our veterans makes us feel so damn good every single year, so we’re doing it! Free breakfast for all active and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Thank you all so much for your service. We hope to be able to shake your hand and say thank you in person as we’ve so proudly done every year since we opened in 2015! Lest we forget.

Every time I dress a dish, I feel like I get a glimpse at what it’s like to be a dance mom getting her baby ready to hit the stage
Creating a new menu is hard work, but there are definitely perks to the job Taste testing is definitely one

Someone found this farm to table pork material and thought of me, bought it and made me a mask! What a kind gesture. I love it so much. Getting used to masks hasn’t been easy for everyone, but it’s beautiful to see people making the most of this temporary inconvenience. This truly made my day. Thank you for the mask and for thinking of me and for your kindness today. Small acts of kindness can mean all the difference.

THE GREAT LAKES Our Great Lakes are a force to be reckoned with and so is this dish. Our whitefish cakes are carefully and thoughtfully prepared using Agawa Fisheries whitefish. Those are pan fried and topped with warm spinach, two perfectly poached eggs and our hollandaise sauce. To complete, we serve this with your choice of side. Pairing with the pumpkin soup is flawless
This is why I fell in love with the restaurant world. So many restaurants are suffering because of COVID. The last thing these maritime restaurants needed to do was put another restriction on themselves, so to see so many restaurants stand in solidarity with the Mi’kmaq’s treaty rights is making my heart sing The treaty rights of the Mi’kmaq’s should be enforced by our government. We stand with the Mi’kmaq’s as we would stand with our own First Nation Fisheries. ...Consider attending Garden River First Nation Peaceful Rally in support of Mi’kmaq Treaty Rights. The poster with the details in the comments below. This is Canada. Support one another. Call on our government to end this and uphold the Mi’kmaq people’s treaty rights. WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE MI’KMAQ PEOPLE. See more
We are proud and excited to finally be putting up this beautiful piece of art that was custom made for us by Konrad Wojcik. We have been admiring his work around town for so long. We will be treasuring our Konrad original for years to come! It’s the perfect addition to our little slice of heaven

We are so proud of our partners at Sunnynook Farms for entering Millworks - Centre for Entrepreneurship Bridges to Better Business Pitch Contest. They have worked so hard over the last few years supplying us, opening up the farm to visitors, selling their products locally and really encouraging this community. Please click the link and give their video a watch and consider voting for Sunnynook. They truly deserve this and so much more
You want savoury, but you want a little sweetness. It’s the lifelong dilemma of our patrons, but it doesn’t have to be. M O N T E C R I S T O is the game changer! Start with our scratch made crepe, fill it with melted Swiss, shaved ham and Thomson’s strawberry jalapeño jam. Top with two poached eggs and a sprinkling of chives, served with a little dijon mustard on the side for that added kick! Never settle for sweet or savoury again. YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL!!!
