Hey Butternut fam - it’s Michelle here I wanted to personally write a note to you as we’ve been a little quiet over here lately and we’ve been receiving so many requests for your favourite bakes! As you know, we were planning to get things up and running again with another online pre-order shop and to ramp up production again - but now there’s been an unforeseen delay with this. I received some unfortunate news just over a week ago that I tested positive for COVID-19. As yo...u can imagine it hasn’t exactly been a cake walk. I am so thankful to tell you that after a very difficult and nerve racking 10 days, the worst is behind me and that I’m now recovering I wanted to share this with you as it will be a little while until I can get things up and running again at The Butternut and that I really truly appreciate your patience while we get there We will open slow and steady for preorders and curb side pick up as soon as we can. We’re calling on our supportive community to help us spread the word, and for those of you who are able, to make a donation to help purchase food cards to be sent out to families in need Due to school closures, there are thousands of kids that rely on the nutritious meals that are provided daily by nutrition programssupported by the Toronto Foundation for Stude...nt Success (TFSS) These kids are now at home with no access to these programs and many of their families have abruptly lost their income. Government supports will take weeks to implement. Every dollar goes a long way - did you know $50.00 will provide a child 30 breakfasts?! Yup, that’s right! We can *quickly* make a BIG impact for the kids who truly need it right now This amazing charity is working around the clock and alongside school boards to identify the families in need and will be sending out 5,500 food cards next week with the plan to send out even more as soon as more funds are available!
