The Central Alberta Regional Assessment Review Board is seeking new members. This is the last week to apply. Apply if you have: experience serving on tribunals or quasi-judicial boards professional or legal writing abilities ... a flexible schedule, with availability during the day to attend training and hearings (about three days a month) strong understanding of technology, specifically online meeting platforms and MS Office Suite (or equivalent) This is an impartial, independent board responsible for issuing decisions on complaints relative to property assessment in more than 30 municipalities. Last night, City Council approved a bylaw requiring face coverings in all City facilities in Red Deer. The Face Coverings Bylaw in Civic Facilities takes effect immediately with employees and patrons inside any City building, where services are provided to the public, required to wear a face covering unless they are within an office or cubicle. We are working through the details and will provide more information to citizens in the coming days. We’ll be reviewing all responses and see what we can to do ensure our new system serves our riders the best way possible. As promised, we put everyone who responded into a draw. Watch for a video featuring the lights in City Hall Park after 5 p.m. There is not an official lighting ceremony downtown. City Hall Park lights are on (sunset to sunrise) throughout the season so you are welcome to stop by any evening between now and mid-January to check them out. There are festive lights along Ross Street and Little Gaetz Avenue for you to enjoy as well!
