From our head distiller @chrisdoesdistilling A friend asked how they should enjoy our new gin recently. The honest answer is how I want it, over ice, on its own. But I thought I would share the second most common way I drink it - in what I call the KGT or Kentucky Gin and Tonic. ... I use Sodastream Waters Zero Lemonade, with 1.5 oz of our new London Calling Dry Gin and a couple of drops of Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Classic Tonic Syrup (a special treat I discovered touring distilleries in Kentucky, but can be found here at bar supply stores). Mix in a glass with ice and enjoy. We're getting all kinds of feedback wondering what gives London Calling Dry Gin such a unique flavour that's anchored in familiarity. Let's hear it straight from Head Distiller, Chris Ferg. ... "I started with the same principal I do with all our spirits: how to pay homage to the gin’s tradition while making it my own and making it so that it stands on its own in the glass. I researched all the botanicals that would typically go into a traditional London Dry Gin. I macerated them individually to understand how they each reacted to the alcohol. I slowly started mixing them to get a sense of how they would meld together. A little mad scientist at times, testing 2 part of this one, with 1.5 parts of that one and a couple of drops of this other one. After many of these experiments, I landed on the flavour for our new London Calling Dry Gin. It has all the flavour one would expect in a dry gin with some subtle twists. A note from our head distiller @chrisdoesdistilling I was never a gin drinker. I started with our Strawberry Fields Gin; it is a delicious departure from a traditional gin. I love the strawberry finish at the end. I created it as part of a partnership with @bistro67, and I thought that was the end of gin for me. ...
