OMS Montessori and The Element High School wish to reflect and remember the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces who have served and continue to serve our great country, we thank you. Wear a Poppy to show your support.

Last year, the e1 businesses were so successful that the students had enough money to purchase a brand new sewing machine that will be used in one of the businesses starting up this year to make face masks. Additionally, all the money raised by one e1 business, Rolling Scones, last year was used to make a charitable donation of $217.70 to World Wildlife Fund Canada! Way to go e1s! The students continue to plan and prepare to pitch their new business ideas shortly.

The Element Art Club is collecting artwork for the first art show of the school year. The theme of this art show is "All My Relations" (a well-known phrase within many Canadian Indigenous communities which symbolizes the notion of interconnectedness). Stay tuned!

Students kicked off this week in Media Arts by partnering with the AudiCity Ottawa Marketing Team to do a commercial photoshoot of their cars. The students set up the lighting and took all of the photos for the marketing campagin. They also had a look at the professional photography equipment used by the lead photographer at Audi including his camera drone! The students followed up with a peer review of the photos they took.

The students are ready to pitch their small business plans to our very own Dragon's Den panel. Their small businesses will be found on Etsy.com in the coming weeks.
