I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude for the recent award I was presented at the Pedorthic Association of Canada's symposium in London, Ontario last week. It was quite a surprise, to say the least, and I was honoured to think my colleagues saw my efforts as award worthy. In a smaller profession it takes a higher percentage of the group to take on the responsibility for running and growing the profession. I have really enjoyed the challenges of helping out and would encourage more of the pedorthic profession to get involved in the association and college boards. I am continuing to help PAC push for title protection for our profession and thank my colleagues and our association for acknowledging my efforts... lots still to do, but it feels good to get a pat on the back like this once an while.
