Norman Amadio's beautiful song "Mem'ries of a Friend" check link in comments to download all chart versions Greetings to all musicians of all levels...student ...or master (jazz or classically trained) It has been a month of prep ( transcribing, thinking, listening) Thanks to Norman Amadio's song "Mem'ries of a Friend" Norman Amadio was known to many of us, and we had great times laughing, telling stories, playing music. He didn't want any fuss or any kind of formal memorial upon his passing on Jan 21 2020..... and therefore there was no chance to gather and pay respects But I thought that by transcribing and writing out his beautiful song, (a tune he wrote and dedicated to his close friend- bassist Bob Price) that maybe we can all play it in our own way....even arrange it or expand on the chord changes if you choose. It is a way to remember his genius and humility and heart and his friendship, and a way for him to give a gift to us. There is a chart for every level here....jazz lead instrumental, vocal (lyrics by Barbara Lee), classical (gk transcription of Norm's own performance), alternate arrangement and chords jazz ( Rick Wilkins arrangement), Bflat parts for the jazz charts They are quite varied...so if you have time...check and compare and find what phrasing and changes and chart works for you....it's open to interpretation...even arrange your own ! I hope you can check it out and enjoy it...and please forward it and share it with your colleagues, friends and Students (especially) Let the world hear his tune to friendship with love and respect to all his family and friends special thanks to Lorraine Amadio for our phone calls and your blessings to Barbara Lee for her input and creativity to Rick Wilkins for creating a brilliant one page lead sheet arrangement...and for providing expertise and advice to Catherine Wilson for playing and giving feedback on the "classical" score to Diane Roblin for feedback on the first score to Julie McGregor for her amazing friendship with Norm and to anyone that had a chance to play with him, hang out...or assist him I scanned through my contact list in an attempt to reach as many of you as possible that may have had a connection with Norm, or may enjoy teaching this song to aspiring jazz students I haven't scratched the surface in reaching those that may have known Norm...so please feel free to forward any or all of this to anyone that you know may appreciate it thanks so much Geo links to - 6 types of scores of this special tune and an m4a Mem'ries of a Friend (for classical musicians and jazzers who read classical notation- exact transcription of Norm's performance- 3pages) Mem'ries of a Friend (lead sheet for jazzers, original Norm changes) Mem'ries of a Friend ( lead sheet for jazzers, original Norm changes Bflat instruments) Mem'ries of a Friend (lyric version for vocalists- lyrics by Barbara Lee) Mem'ries of a Friend ( lead sheet for jazzers - special Rick Wilkins arrangement and changes) Mem'ries of a Friend (lead sheet for jazzers - special Rick Wilkins arrangement and changes- Bflat instruments) Mem'ries of a Friend (m4a of Norm's performance with G.K on bass) if you want a midi file of any of the above ( for transposing to Eflat instruments , bass clef, etc ) just pm me and I'll send here is a soundcloud link below https://soundcloud.com/georgekollerprod/memries-of-a-friend https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Amadio #NormanAmadio link to charts for download https://spaces.hightail.com/space/oQRrB

Thanks John for a great night. I had a blast hanging with musicians, and doing my thing live at the Canterbury Music Company. I love that place.
