For those of you looking for a new craft to do at home during these times, our friend Becca from B Reed Design is making some awesome DIY Weaving videos! She even shows you how to make your own cardboard loom, which is made with things you likely already have on hand. I am also happy to announce we have Becca joining us to instruct our Hand Weaving Basics workshop. These were scheduled to start last month, and we can't wait for the first once we open up again.

Hey guys! So a few days ago, I had promised to post details about where/how to deliver scrub caps to hospitals and now I have more information!! Our incredible student @unapologetically_alia has set up this website (www.sewforto.ca) that helps volunteers connect with hospitals. If you are making scrub caps and would like to arrange to have them picked up, or if you would like to be a volunteer driver, the link is in our bio!

Last summer, @matswaller and I went to visit Detroit. We went to see the abandoned Packard Plant. This factory built ships during WWII. Then it built American cars. And when the American auto industry collapsed, this is what happened to factories in Detroit. I want to remind people that this is real. This happens to cities when industries fall apart, and I am afraid for the restaurant industry in Toronto, for Arts and Culture, for small yoga studios and book stores and theatr...es and everything else that makes our city wonderful. Businesses don’t just serve the people who shop at them. They make streets safer, they create jobs, they pay taxes. When small businesses are asking for rent relief, please support them. We are not just asking for ourselves but for the stability of our entire city. It is not going to be okay if half the restaurants and stores in our city close. It will not come back overnight.
