It's very unfortunate but yes, January seems to be divorce month. And this year, it could be higher than normal with couples both isolating and working from ho...me. It's sad but true. But should this be the case, and the matrimonial home is being sold and each party buying their own, or perhaps one party wants to buy the other out and keep the matrimonial home - I can help. For a no-obligation consultation on your mortgage options, give me a call. See more

Christmas alone and Covid lock down = lots of toques knit for the homeless. Now to get downtown to drop them off/hand them out.

Mortgages By Cathy 25.12.2020

Christmas is over and although there were probably no guests or traveling this year, you may have decided it's time to update the kitchen, bathroom, finished t...he basement etc. Or maybe you went a bit overboard on the gifts, and credit cards bills are looming. Consider re-financing your home for that cash. On average, an additional $10,000 on your mortgage is less than $50/mo. And depending what your current mortgage terms and conditions are, you may be able to actually lower your total monthly payments AND get rid of the high credit card payments. Give me a call for a no obligation consultation. See more

Noticed this post in a realtor's linkedIn post. If you really need a dedicated home office and there's no room in the house - why not a separate back yard offi...ce. Get dressed, get in the car, drive through for your favorite coffee then park in the alley and go to work! Let's talk about refinancing your current mortgage to do this. Some of the cost should be deductible but check with your accountant! See more

Some wise words of observation from our VP of British Columbia about CMHC's Fall Mortgage Report, what's happening with mortgages, arrears etc. "Some incredibl...y interesting observations. Probably not a huge surprise that refinances are up...but same lender refinances and renewals are up considerably. Also arrears rates are still ultra low and deferrals have materially subsided, but there may be an increase in arrears are still some deferrals that haven't restarted yet." https://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca//mortgage-deferral-agreements- See more
