Aries is a 7 year old Greater Swiss Mountain dog. She is approx 80 lbs. While she is fantastic with people of all ages and thinks she is a lap dog! She is a dominate female and is not good with other dogs unless properly introduced. Scarlett is a 14 year old Dachshund/MinPin mix. She has cataracts but this does not affect her frisky nature. She is a snuggle bunny and loves human companionship. Unfortunately she has toilet issues. We are hoping to find a foster or permanent home for her soon as her current caregiver is going into a facility that does not allow dogs. Cleo is a neutered male that is as sweet as a sweet can be. He has fur that feels like velvet and loves to snuggle as close to the human body as possible. Benny is a 3 year old ShihTzu mix. While he is as cute as a button, he is a biter. He came from a very abusive home where he witnessed the male beat on the female occupant on a reqular basis. He was treated with disdain by the male and has developed a strong dislike to men and children and will bite with little provocation. Mikey celebrated his 4th birthday on Dec. 30th in style!! His new family absolutely adore this easy going, passive guy, who is so eagar to please on all levels. And, to think that at this time last year he was living under cars, at a South Surrey Starbucks where his previous owners had left him; waiting for kind passerby's to throw him a few scraps of food!! The Universe has been kind.....

Murphy is 15 years old. He arrived last month, and it has been a roller coaster ride trying to keep him with us on this plain. He stopped eating for several days, so it was a regime of subq fluids, AD syringed into him several times a day. Then, out of the blue he started eating on his own! This continued for several days (all the while I was still maintaining the subq fluids on alternate days). So, we play this game, "I'll going to eat today, no I don't want too, ok, I'll give in and amuse the old gal and eat for her". He is a sweet guy and I truly want him to be happy here. Do hope he decides to stay with us a while longer.

We have taken in quite a few cats over the past month, just didn t have time to post them. Here are two, Momma is 13 and the mother to Lil Cat who is 10. They lived outside all of their lives and human touch is somewhat foreign to them. They are slowly settling in and "motors" are starting to rev up, especially while being brushed.

This is Bailey (sorry for the poor picture)he is a 1.5 year old Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. He is good with other dogs, great with people, and is very eager to please. Mickey is a sweet, attentive, 4 year old that loves to snuggle. He has been with us since April of 2019. He was fine with the resident cats however, has become a bully to any new felines that come in. So sadly, he has to leave. Cuddles is a large tabby with white, male. He is approx 12 yrs old. He was adopted from the Society 10+ yrs ago but his original paperwork was lost and we are unable to read his tattoo. He is pretty cranky with us and I don't blame him! Came from a loving home and now thrust in with my motley crew! Tommy a semi feral, passed away yesterday. He had been with us for 9 years. He had bonded with another feral here, Daphanie, they were inseparable. Ate together, slept together, even walked side by side. I know that she, more than anyone else here, will be at a loss with out her constant companion and soul mate. We will grieve together. Miss you TomTom.
