Recently, I have received a number of inquiries regarding how to get a copy of one of my coloured photos. I normally don't provide copies, as I prefer to focus on the restoration work however, as there seems to be such an interest in obtaining copies lately, I will provide, anyone interested with a high resolution digital copy (email) of any picture. I will of course remove my logo from the picture. I can also order prints for you at Costco (I do restoration work for Costco in Newfoundland) Just message or email me at [email protected] if you are interested.
Mrs. Wilfred Grenfell's [Anne] Luncheon party, St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador, 1910
Since it's #InternationalTeachersDay I thought I'd share this restored and coloured pic of my Grade 1 class from St. Pat's in 1964 -65. See anyone you know?
My latest restoration and coloring.
My latest coloured picture.
Happy #LabourDay to all. Here's a blast from the past, a mid 1940s Labour Day parade on Duckworth St. (colourized)
This pic, more than many others I've seen, truly depicts the hard life of the Newfoundland fisherman. This is Logy Bay circa 1900. Digital high resolution copies, suitable for printing, are available on request. Restored and colourized.
Dec 12 1901 - Marconi (at left) raising the kite at Signal Hill
Here is one I colourized from the CJON (NTV) archives. "Fun-O-Rama" with Shirley Shears. The program first aired in 1965 from CJON on Buckmaster's Circle in St. John's. See anyone you know? Photo credit CJON (NTV). Original can be seen at https://bit.ly/3eXN73Y
Two firemen stand by a Holloway hose carriage in Harbour Grace #Newfoundland after the fire. Looks like St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral in the background.
Another picture I restored of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment. Here John R. Bennett, the #Newfoundland Minister of Militia inspects the troops at Ecuires, France, 25 June 1918.
My most recent work.
Here's one I colorized of Grouchy's Tire on LeMarchant Road. Looks to be late 1940s. No historical significance, just a great photo of a simpler time.
The oldest picture of Rawlins Cross I have found to date, circa 1880. The original "Corner Boys" standing outside "Dickie Ivorys" pub, likely waiting for it to open and no doubt discussing the roundabout.
Colorization of St. John's native, Gunner Tom Grace, a Commando of the Newfoundland Heavy Artillery Regiment, as he crawls along the grass, a machete in his mouth, as part of a training exercise in England in 1942. Find out more about Tom and the Newfoundland commandos at https://bit.ly/2BIlM86
