From all of us at The Postmen Disaster Relief Group, we wish you all a happy Remembrance Day on Nov 11 With so many who sacrificed so we can be here today, the ...memories of all who were lost, we hold deep in our hearts this and every day. From The Postmen. ****************** In Flanders field the poppies grow, For the reason we all should know. Standing proud and tall as can be, Its glory and beauty we all can see. Remembering the men who saved us all, Their bravery and honour we all may recall. A symbol of courage we shall never forget, For the men who died in the war they met. They gave up their lives to save the rest, Although they died, they did their best. To the bravest of all man and your respected ranks, We look up to you always and give you thanks. QUESNEL - SOMEONE NEEDS OUR HELP. (UPDATE IN DESCRIPTION). We are reaching out to the community of Quesnel and area in hope that we can get some help for this family. This man has recently been diagnosed with cancer and is not doing that well. With aggressive chemo upcoming, and expenses related to his illness, he and his family are finding things very hard to manage. He has been a Quesnel resident his whole life and has worked in the logging industry for about 50 years but i...s now off work. One of the things that is most difficult for him is getting firewood for the coming cold weather. Physically he is not able and we are asking if there is anyone who can help with this. They require 16 inch split wood. After talking with him I learned it is not just firewood that they could use, but also we request any help with non-perishable foods, breads, meat...., grocery store gift cards, gas cards, pretty well anything that can help relieve the stress and worries this family is facing. With a little help from community perhaps his journey will be a little less difficult. Quesnel has always shown it's kindness in times like these, and we hope there will be some who will do what they can to help out. I have and continue to speak to him on the telephone and want to mention, he is a very proud man. He never imagined he would find himself in a situation where asking and accepting help from others would be something he has no choice but to do. He mentioned to me that in only a couple weeks he has lost about 50 pounds. He is holding strong with a good head on his shoulders but really has no choice but to accept some help from others. ******* Original post from his family: Hey my Quesnel family and friends, my brother in law has cancer and is off work now, they really need firewood as he physically can not go out and get it any kind of help, donation of firewood would be greatly appreciated as they have no income coming in as of yet He has been hauling logs his whole life for our community, please any donation of firewood for our family/friend would be graciously appreciated ! We all thank you and Love you for any help possible xoxox If anybody wants to share this post please do ***firewood size 16inch. Thanks again whoever can help, bless you all ******* - Any donations can be brought to our local Postmen Depot at 982 Maple Heights Rd. Contact number is 250-983-5485. - Please share this post and do what you can to help this family, they would be forever grateful and we all thank you very very much. UPDATE: There is now a GOFUND setup for him, please consider donating, even a little helps. He has now started his Chemo Therapy and feeling the effects of it. He has a long way to go and so much is still uncertain, let's help him and his family best we can, bless you all for all you can do. GOFUND AT THE FOLLOWING LINK: https://gf.me/u/y2rsg5

The Postmen in Quesnel sometimes works with Amata Transition House and they requested that we let everyone know that they are now taking donations. Due to Covid 19 they are limited to take only two bags per drop off. They are only accepting soft items such as clothes, shoes, towels etc... drop off dates are Monday, Tuesday, and wed from 10 am till 2 pm and Saturdays. Any woman or women in crisis and are in desperate need of clothing they can call the Amata house... contact... the Residence Coordinator at 250-992-7321 and they can try to help out the best they can. The Amata house has been in Quesnel for many years and has always been a very good resource for woman and their children in times of need. Please help spread the word and please consider donating and do not hesitate contacting them if you are in need or know of someone who is.
