Members who do not feel comfortable returning to the gym can rest assured that their memberships are still frozen.

We are excited to be able to welcome climbers at the gym again, albeit in a modified manner to reflect our new reality. We are committed to maintaining good social distancing and sanitization with the following: Customers must pre-book 1 hr time slots in advance. The time slots start at 8am, 10am, noon, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm and 10pm.... Book Bouldering, Autobelay or Roped climbing. Only one activity per visit. Bouldering: Book in partner pairs who will boulder together for the entire session. Maximum 10 boulderers per session. Singles can be paired with another single. Autobelay: Book singly or in pairs. Maximum 4 per session. Must be autobelay certified. Roped Climbing: Book in partner pairs who will climb together for the entire session. Maximum 16 climbers per session. Must be belay certified. BOOKING DETAILS: Book the week before. The booking week will be Saturday-Friday. (first week available to book is May 23-29) Starting at 10am on Tuesdays: Annual members, monthly members and 10 pass members can book one or two time slots. (booking process starts May 19th) Starting at 10am on Thursdays: 3rdtime slot can be booked and non-members can book one time slot. To book email [email protected] and include the following: 1. Do you want to boulder, autobelay or climb? 2. Your first choice of day/time 3. Alternative day/times 4. Full name of both people in booking. Bookings will be done in order received. We will send a confirmation email with more details of our new policies and procedures to maintain social distancing and sanitation. We are looking forward to climbing again! We do not know when we will be able to re-open but we are preparing. We are planning new guidelines for operations to ensure adequate social distancing and sanitization. The climbing organizations and the other climbing gyms are working together to develop guidelines. Currently we are setting routes and boulder zones to maintain a 2m distance. We are installing Plexiglas at the front desk and ordering lots of cleaning supplies.... The re-opening will be on a staged basis; starting cautiously to ensure safety of staff and climbers. Initially there will be no direct staff/customer interactions. A limited number of climbers, autobelay users and boulderers must book a time slot in advance. To book climbing you must already be belay certified and to book autobelay you must be autobelay certified. The maximums per time slot will start small and increase when possible and safe We intend to give priority to our special members who maintained their memberships or provided other financial support during this downtime. There are still many unknowns, so we cannot tell you when or exactly how we will reopen, but we will open as soon as we are allowed. Sincerely, The Rock Oasis.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! To the members who are declining the freeze on their memberships; thank you. It will help us provide some staff compensation during the closure. And, it helps lift our heavy hearts during this difficult time. We are an awesome community!... We are committed to helping our staff as much as possible during this difficult period. We are providing work to those who want to work; gym maintenance, routesetting, fielding customer inquiries, etc. Full time staff who are sick or not comfortable working will be supported. We will add to government support as required and are providing immediate emergency financial assistance as needed.

Due to current events and to help protect our community we are closed. As you probably know, this is a fluid situation that we will continue to monitor. Updates will be provided when we have more information, especially about a reopening date. We have been open every single day of the last 23 years and this is the hardest decision we have ever faced. We are proud to have provided thousands of climbers with quality indoor climbing and bouldering in a family-like atmosphere sin...ce we opened on Bathurst Street in 1998. While we heard from many of you urging us to close, we also received so much gratitude for being open. We know that climbing is a very important part of your lives, we are all sad that we need to close for this time. We look forward to reopening to climb and send with you again. This too shall pass. Please pay attention to the advice you hear from your local and regional authorities. Its beyond our capabilities and position to rehash those to you here. We think you probably dont want to be told to wash your hands and stop touching your face again. Take good care of yourselves, and we will see you when we reopen.
