Some good news and some bad news. First the good news, we will be at three farmers markets this summer. Coquitlam on Sundays 9am till 1 pm in front of the Dogwood Center just off Poirier, Haney on Saturday in downtown Maple Ridge in front of the Band Stand on 224th Street 9 am till 2 p.m. and Penticton market on Saturday right in downtown Penticton 9am till 1 p.m.. The bad news is unfortunately we have had to shut down our shop in Cawston so if you are in the area and want our vinegars they are available at Tree to Me on Hwy. 3A.

Starting this Saturday we will be at the Penticton Farmer's market with our vinegars, herbs and produce.. See you there between 8:30 am and 1 pm, in downtown Penticton. We start markets in Haney and Coquitlam next week - will keep you updated!

Also new is that our farm gate is closing down in Maple Ridge and we will be making a new beginning in Cawston - more updates to follow on the changes!

June is a great month to visit the south Okanagan, Keremeos and Cawston, everything looks so lush and green and the roads are not that busy yet! Check out the vinegars, herbs and preserves here and go on to visit the Grist Mill and also the many wineries in the valley.

A favourite in our family, spinach salad. Spinach, cut up cooked bacon, cut up hard boiled eggs, olive oil, and our Italian blend dried herbs plus Plum Infused Wine Vinegar. The Plum vinegar has a slight sweet taste that balances out the heavier flavoured spinach and bacon.

Sigh... we didn't get away this winter to anywhere warm but we can still bring some holiday fun into the house by making one of our favourite salads. This Mexican salsa salad is made with avocados, tomatoes, little bit of onion, cilantro, black beans, corn, lime juice a little salt and pepper and of course our Red Wine Vinegar to add depth to the flavour of the salad. YUM! Just need some nachos and we are ready to enjoy.

Trying something new in our dryers - fruit leathers using our own raspberries and strawberries in one type and apples, plums and apricots in another. Just a bit of honey to sweeten otherwise pretty basic with just fruit. Just need to develop a formula for optimum drying and storage. Love to try new things in the winter!

Something I enjoy on a regular basis is our fruit infused wine vinegar (especially the raspberry and cherry) with club soda. I find it refreshing and often a great aperitif in the evening. So easy just a tablespoon of vinegar to a glass of club soda (or water if you like it "still").

It seems vinegars are a bit misunderstood and I am hoping too clear that up this year by offering some ways to use our natural vinegars. Our fridge as you can see is full of vinegars, of course, since we create these lovely food enhancers. Just a tablespoon of Wine vinegar can add so much depth to an otherwise plain sauce, dressing, or even meal.
