In our present day, there is a ton of conversation about power, in at least three different ways. We talk about power in terms of control, wealth, influence, fame, and titles. We talk about abuses of power that we see in politicians, leaders, clergy, institutions, etc. And we talk about empowerment for minorities, for women and girls, and for those who have been marginalized or exploited. And yet as a culture, and as a world we are caught in a tension. On the one ...hand we are suspicious of anyone with power because of all of the ways we have seen power abused. On the other hand, we see that without empowerment without seizing power from those that hoard it or abuse it we can’t make change happen. But there is way forward.
