Hi Friends! A bit of an update... If we’re being honest the last week working we’re harder on us then any in recent history. We cater and execute weddings in fields in the sun for hundreds while running a restaurant and yesterday was harder. We had issues with supplies, technology , mental health, physically and emotionally. Jason and I agree yesterday was the worst day for us. Nothing to do with the food our customers had but what happened behind the scenes. Things our of o...ur control. Anything that could go wrong did. We had no control. We are grateful to have good luck usually on our side and yesterday was our turn for that to change. I don’t know what it was yesterday but both of us wanted to cry, scream and give up. Personally I had a challenge with my mental health that I couldn’t control. The hard thing was we realized this lockdown will get worse for everyone. We want to thank each and every person for making an order and being patient with us. Whether you saw us struggling or not. It was so nice to get so many positive messages from you throughout the day ! We want to hear your feedback to make sure we get this right please email [email protected] We are going to take a few extra days to adjust and reflect prior to releasing the menu for next week. We definitely will continue delivery prepared meals @home and will be opening up a second delivery date as that was overwhelming support yesterday!!! We apologize for any delay in all of this. We need to fix supply, logistics, take out containers, website issues and make it easier. We strive for perfection and whether you saw it or not; yesterday was a shit show. We will be okay! Its healing for me to speak openly, and to I feel it necessary to take time to heal and reflect. Jason and Is mental and physical health is paramount to each other. If there’s one thing I know about the two of us when faced with hardships we take it as an opportunity! I know I’m not alone in saying your struggling too. We completed the mission~ operation Christmas dinner. Many emotions today. I cried sad and happy tears, laughed, and was surprisingly calm. We went into this week knowing there was a lot of pressure not to mess up, that in 54 hours the two of us would cook for over 400 people there ever important Christmas Dinner. People who are changing there plans, having a tough time, making new experiences, having quite high expectations. We are having a tough time too. I think everyone ...is. As I sit here writing this in my empty restaurant, about to enter another lockdown for who knows how long, glass in my hand emotions are flowing. We received the most amazing gift this holiday. HOPE. Because of each one our our customers. Not just this week but everyone who has supported us since we started The Yellow Pear 8 years ago..... Christmas 2020 will forever be special to us. We received so many cards,priceless gifts, words of encouragement etc. Then texts of thanks, message and pictures of your families enjoying meals. Feeding our own family members/friends, our regulars who are now quite frankly are our friends (cause it’s there the only people we have seen since March) new faces etc Jason and I are blessed. We feel like our spirit was in each of your homes with all the love sent our way. Now when I get home tonight and enjoy a glass of gorgeous wine we were gifted all of your spirits will be in our home. Thank you. We wish you all a Merry Christmas.
