We moved into our new Journey to Life Centre in October of 2020. Our first Journey to Life Participants are excited to begin their journey. As one participant stated once he settled into his new room, It is so good to walk into my apartment, close the door, and make a coffee whenever I want. This is new to me to have my own space. Help our participants continue their journey to a way new of living. https://secure.salvationarmy.ca/registra/DonationPage.aspx

All the coins and bills have been counted and our grand total for the 2020 Kettle Campaign is.....$211, 062. Which mean we are short of our goal of $220 000 by $8,937. Although we are disappointed we are still amazed by the generous spirit of Thunder Bay. Even during this crazy year you still came through for us. Because of your generosity our food bank can supply hampers to hungry citizens, our soup van can operate and our outreach programming can continue.

Our clients now have a chance for more. As they work through the program, our staff will work alongside them to guide as they work towards a new life and even be there for him even after they set out on their own. This is a chance to make lasting changes and a new perspective on life.

I’m happy that we have a gym now. A place to take a walk where I won’t fall on the ice. It gives me something to do and keeps my mind off things. Resident

Is there a high school student in your household that needs community hours? We can help out with that. A great way to gain those hours is manning a kettle for a few hours over the holiday season. Call the Salvation Army office at 345-6492.

It’s that time of year again. Yes it’s a different holiday season but we can still have certain traditions continue. And nothing says Christmas like the Red Kettles appearing in local stores. Want to help out? Call 345-6492 to book a shift.

Remembrance Day this year is different. As much as we all want to pay our respects in person, we cannot out of an abundance of caution. So instead we joined together as a staff and residents. Taking a moment out of our day to remember those who have died in wars and conflicts for our freedoms.
