Hello everyone. We here at T&J Seafoods are feeling grateful for the fact that Covid-19 has not touched us, or our families directly. We hope that you can say the same. We do know that not everyone in our region has been so lucky. Charities have been hit hard, seeing some of their revenues dry up, while the need for their services has increased dramatically. We are happy to step up to do our part this year by working with the Waterloo Knights of Columbus to sponsor their Ann...ual Toy Drive. The concept is simple, on Saturday November 28 between 10am and 3pm drop off a new unwrapped toy at our Drive Thru location at 26 Elm Street. You will be greeted by our volunteers who will safely take your donations making sure they make it to the Knights of Columbus who will wrap them, and distribute them to families in the region. In return for your generosity, we will give you a coupon book from us, and other fantastic businesses in the area. Hey everyone, as this covid thing continues we are beginning to see shortages of imported shrimp. This is a great time to discover Canadian shrimp. Canadian shrimp lack the size of their warm water cousins, but they more than make up for it with a great sweet flavour. Time for a treat? BBQ ready to go? We have just the ticket for a long weekend BBQ. Black Alaska Cod fillets. Also known as Sablefish, it is fantastic on the grill. Unlike its east coast cousin, Sablefish has a beautiful creamy texture that perfectly complements its lovely mild flavour. We highly recommend it on the Q with a little oil and lemon, but if that's not your thing we have a lovely recipe for it in a taco with Thai cabbage slaw. Hey all. We can't wait for the weekend, or any day off right now. Why? Fresh Alaskan Sockeye has arrived, and putting it on a cedar plank and then on the BBQ is a summertime ritual with us. Hi all, getting a little bored with the same old lobster and scallops for dinner? May we make a suggestion? Just in from Vancouver Island, are Sea Cucumbers. Turns out our supplier for salmon and halibut has a brother who dives for them. Our Asian friends tell us they are great in a stir fry, but it is the texture, not the flavour they are known for. We have a limited supply @ 13.99 lb. frozen.
