Application deadline March 1st Fundamental Psychoanalytic Perspectives If you are a psychotherapist, or simply have an interest in psychotherapy, and you want to know more about the theory that started it all, this excellent introductory program has been designed for you. This thirty-three week course combines teaching of basic concepts of psychoanalysis with presentation of clinical cases and explanation of therapy technique. Knowledge and understanding of concepts such as t...ransference and counter-transference can be of enormous help in making sense of interactions with patients and clients, no matter what your preferred modality of treatment. This program is offered by the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society in response to the growing interest of individuals who want more than their education has offered to date. Although it is not a training program, it could certainly lead to one. The Affiliate/Guest Status Application is August 1 2021. In order to apply for Guest/Affiliate status these are the requirements: a.) Be sponsored in writing by a member of the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society who will be present at the Annual General Meeting and be prepared to speak on your behalf;... b.) Submit a letter requesting consideration for Guest status, which states your interest in psychoanalysis, any previous involvement in the field of psychoanalysis, and reasons for attending the scientific meetings and other related events. c.) Submit a current C.V. d.) Arrange for two letters of reference - one preferably from a qualified psychoanalyst; another one from a professional colleague who knows you well. Please be advised that the current annual fee for Guest status is $295.00. For an additional $70.00/year one can become a Research Guest and have access to the PEPweb (a vast number of psychoanalytic journals, articles and books). See more
