Has anyone seen or heard about @colinjost new book? In it he describes in detail how he didn’t speak until he was 4 and how a #speechlanguagepathologist chan...ged his life! I have to admit, his interview with @npr made me think #CAS aka apraxia. Thank you Colin for speaking out about this! Our speech students and clients will benefit! And #slpeeps, I love you all and what you do! You never know, you may unlock a voice for the next SNL writer. #slpsofinstagram #speechtherapy #speechlanguagepathologist #speechlanguagepathology #apraxia #everyonedeservesavoice #overcomingapraxia ? #developmentallanguagedisorder #latetalker #slpgradstudent #colinjost #snl

I can’t wait to bring this film to the world. I know what it means already to the stuttering community, but the rest of the world is only just beginning to conn...ect with their role in stigmatizing and marginalizing young people who stutter. We have so far to go, but I KNOW in my SOUL this film will help those outside of the community take huge steps forward. You will hear these brilliant, powerful, wise young people IN THEIR OWN VOICES, as they’re meant to be heard, and you will walk away a changed person. Coming in 2020, My Beautiful Stutter follows five kids who stutter, ages 9 to 18, from all over the United States and all walks of life, who, after experiencing a lifetime of bullying and stigmatization, meet other children who stutter at an interactive arts-based program, The Stuttering Association for the Young, based in New York City. Their journey to SAY find some close to suicide, others withdrawn and fearful, exhausted and defeated from failed fluency training, societal pressures to not stutter or the decision to remain silent. Over the course of a year we witness first hand the incredible transformation that happens when these young people of wildly different backgrounds experience for the first time the revolutionary idea at the heart of SAY: that it's okay to stutter.
