Today the MTA group competed in their AMAZING RACE, competing in teams to test their knowledge of our training areas, puzzle and problem solving skills, and most importantly team work! It was AMAZING seeing all of their effort and enthusiasm! Last of today’s time trials. Great results so far but the U18 boys would not be out done! They took it out from the gun and pushed hard all the way. Lots more PBs across the board. Roman held off Owen's finishing kick to win in 14:55 with Owen close in 14:56.99! Justin ran hard for 5th in 15:24. Daniel and Mark took 9th and 10th in 16:23 and 16:25! U18 girls were the first to run the 2 lap 5k course. They ran a nice controlled first lap and then Sofia (grade 10 OFSAA XC champion) showed her stuff running a strong second lap for the fastest time in a PB 18:13. Laura and Katherine ran strong for 2nd and 5th both in PB times 18:38 and 19:01. Jenaya and Grace also ran PB times - great work by all! #crosscountry #running #5k #u18 #timetrial #runninggirl

The girls results inspired the U16 boys with Kinnon and Mateo running hard off the start. They finished close with the 3rd and 4th fastest times in 10:03 and 10:04! Grade nine athletes, Sam and Nathan, also ran some fast times - 11:02 and 11:19! #crosscountry #running #runningboy #timetrial #3k

Our MTA crew took part in the Six in the 6 race at Sunnybrook Park. Competing against UTTC, Beaches Blue Devils, Boardwalk, CTAC and Etobicoke our team had a fun day and posted some great results! An inspirational #throwbackthursday Four 4 Faux Ironman Following the Don Olson classic, coach Warren went home feeling inspired by the performance of our incredibly fast TWA kids. ... At 4:04pm on October 3rd he began his own version of an Ironman called the Four 4 Faux Ironman triathlon. In his 44th year, this event included 404 lengths of his pool (approximately 32 feet long), a 140km bike ride to Niagara Falls (became 136.8 to avoid busy bike paths) and a 40.4km run (became 43.52 after some navigation errors). Warren completed this event in the wee hours on October 4th in 9:46:17 (1:00:34 for the swim, 5:05 for the ride and 3:40 for the run). Not bad considering that much of the ride and all of the run took place in darkness and the entire event was done solo. This event was designed for him to test his physical and mental limits and to raise awareness for 4ocean, the Terry Fox Foundation and mental health issues. A healthy body is a big part of maintaining a healthy mind and vice versa.
