Revelstoke's Railway: Then and Now The Canadian Pacific Railway transferred its operational headquarters to Revelstoke in 1899 when it chose to move from Donald to a more centralized location. At that time, our community was already 14 years old, having been established in 1885 during the construction of the CPR.... The history of the Canadian Pacific Railway is one about great changes in geography, industry and the movement of people.
