A rash of smash and grabs have been reported near nature trails in the Town Of Mono and Township of Mulmur. Dufferin OPP is warning those using the scenic trail...s of Dufferin County to ensure valuables aren't left in vehicles while hiking. Police have received at least seven reports of vehicles being broken into at trailheads in the area since January 6, 2021. In all cases, the vehicles were locked and the back window was smashed to gain access to items in the rear of the vehicle, including purses, wallets and electronic devices. When out enjoying our beautiful trails, please ensure: All personal belongings are completely out of site (locked in trunk or better yet left at home); Be aware of your surroundings, pay attention to suspicious people and activities; Contact the OPP to report suspicious persons or activities at 1-888-310-1122. #DufferinOPP
