Well... this is not our typical Facebook post but we’d like to be serious for a moment. This disgruntled customer has posted on dozens of forums and buy/sell groups lately. We can’t be everywhere so we wanted to address it here. We appreciate everybody who has reached out to us to make sure we’re aware of the posts. We’ve spoken several times with this customer and have certainly tried to resolve the situation. The problem is that the accusations in this post are baseless.... We have gone back through our detailed service records and there was no evidence of damage in our inspection of this RV in May of 2018. It is true that the customer brought it in for several service concerns including a window leak at one point that we were unable to replicate, but the structural damage they incurred was in a different area of the trailer all together. We sympathize with these owners, however there is a certain amount of maintenance and responsibility that comes with owning an RV. Expecting to be refunded two years later for something like a water leak that presents itself months after your purchase of a nine year old trailer seems unreasonable. To make the situation even more unmanageable this customer has already traded in the trailer to another dealer without allowing us an opportunity to assess it and are now demanding to be compensated financially to remove these social media postings. The simplest thing would be for us to pay the ransom, however we don’t believe it would be the right thing to do and we don’t want to encourage this type of behaviour. Our industry is far from perfect, and leaky RVs are something that we’ve battled for decades. We’ve spent the better part of thirty years committed to integrity and working very hard to establish our reputation as one of the most reputable and reliable RV dealers in Alberta. We intend to always honour those commitments. When you see this review posted on various forums, please direct commenters to our Facebook page so that we may engage with them. We may have lost our opportunity with Chantal, but we look forward to meaningful engagement from the greater RVing community.
