Our Artistic Director, Albertus Koett, has been training to run a marathon, to raise money for Tree House Youth Theatre, on May 22, 2021. Our Board of Directors, with our Artistic Director, just wrapped up a monthly board meeting. This team is working hard behind the scenes to keep this season going strong during this challenging time. At Tree House, like many other organizations, it takes a team of people to create great things. This group is dedicated to ensuring that our participants continue to have a place where they can explore theatre in a safe and supportive environment.

Registration is now open for our Winter/Spring Term. Running from January to June 2021, this program is open to central Alberta youth between the ages of 9-17. We will be working on and performing the 2nd Annual Tree House One-Act Festival, which will be directed, performed, stage managed, and designed by our participants, under the guidance of professional mentors from the Alberta theatre industry. We are shifting our productions of The Shakespeare Sonnet Collective and Romeo and Juliet to a filmed version of our production, instead of a live performance. Our cast and crew are really excited to learn a whole new medium, and for the opportunity for their friends and family around the world to be able to watch the plays we have been working so hard on. Filming will take place in January, with a release date of the feature film coming in February. All ticket holders have ...been contacted, and will receive a code, which will give them free access to the filmed version when it is out on our website. December 1, 2020 is Giving Tuesday in Canada and North America. Our goal has always been to create high quality theatre training for youth in central Alberta. In June we made the decision to cancel our one-act festival, due to the pandemic. As a result, we lost the revenue we would have received from a sold out audience. We believe that finances should never be a barrier for participation, so we decided against raising registration fees to make up for the lost one-act revenue.... On Giving Tuesday, or before, please consider including Tree House in your annual giving. You will be creating opportunities for our participants to expand their skills in our 2021 one-act festival. Through Canada Helps, you will be able to set up a one time, or monthly donation, and will automatically be sent a tax receipt.
