What beautiful creators. #tirgermoth This is the second year that we have found and hatched these beauties.

Early this spring we came across an interesting looking caterpillar in our front garden bed. Naturally we decided to house and feed them to see the transformation that caterpillars under go. Nature never ceases to amaze me! Such beauty in the smallest of things. These were Giant tiger moths which till now I have never seen before as they are usually out and about in the night. We visited a Tree nursery today it is amazing how resilient trees can be. We seen different propagation methods. Most often trees are grown in these plots by automated seeding: pine and spruce. Seeds need to undergo a bit of preparation to ensure germination. Other methods are by cuttings such as balsam popular. This is where small branch cuttings are collected from the field and individually hand planted in these styrofoam moulds. Lastly we were fortunate to see hand planting of germinated seeds. This is for your small woody shrub varieties such as dogwood and roses. Unbelievablely neat #tinytrees
