Hi Mia and I have been hard at work developing campaigns around mental health and water and have reached out to many of you to be able to share your stories with the community to remind us that we are not alone on our journeys. To start our Mental Health series, I thought I'd share how the water helps to calm me and my mind and why the water is my happy place. Drop a comment below or send us a DM to share your story or join in the discussion. H "It's amazing to think ...back to the times when I was close to the water and felt at peace. Sometimes just breathing in ocean air brings a sense of calm. In university if I couldn't sleep at night or just felt like my mind was racing or I needed to relax I would go for a walk and would always end up at the beach or in the port. I'd just sit for hours. Sometimes I would write, sometimes listen to music, and other times just do nothing at all. Just looking at the water was enough to calm my anxious mind. Submerging in the water to dive is pure bliss - everything just melts away. Sailing makes you feel like one with the water and you realise that your anxious mind's problems are not worth stressing about. For me, the water keeps me grounded and in touch with what's actually happening around me." See more

Harriet has been working with me part-time remotely from the UK since October and played an integral role during the crowdfunding campaign. We actually met back in 2016 when I first launched Truli while living in Turks & Caicos. Giving Tuesday After so much abundance this November with a successful crowdfunding campaign, it’s important for us to ensure we share what we can. Every year on 11 October, the International Day of the Girl, UNICEF launches an annual campaign with girls to amplify their voices and stand up for their rights. This year's theme, My voice, our equal future asks us to reimagine a better world inspired by adolescent girls energized and recognized, counted and invested in I know so many of you are leading the way for the next generation as mothers and mentors for the young people in your lives. ~ Share some of the phrases you say on repeat to the young girls (and boys!) that encourage them to use their voices for an equal future. Community is such a vital aspect of Truli's values and mission. All the women who have offered input throughout the journey, specifically 2018 when I was measuring women left right and centre and recording, studying and putting the data into prototypes have been the reason why Truli is where it is today. Hannah Logan of Eat Sleep Breathe Travel called out wetsuit manufacturers for failing women in water sports. But when I piped up to say Truli was listening, she provided tangible resources (her enthusiasm, wit, and her being!) for me to make the 21 current sizes possible. Tomorrow is the 5th Annual Women's Dive Day celebrated around the world! If you're joining in on the fun this weekend, take a moment and look around your group. Are there a variety of body types? Races? Abilities? Ages? Sexual Orientations? Any trans women diving? If not, be a conversation starter - ask why not? If you're already in the community, you have an advantage and can really make a difference to someone on the outskirts who is keen to give it a go. Ask each other, what can we do differently to make our community more approachable? Be THAT person. I'll be celebrating underwater in the icy waters of Tobermory, Ontario with our hosts Divers Den and Carlyunderwater. Here are a couple pics from the last 5 years diving on women's dive day.
