Researchers at the Alberta Children's Hospital are looking for children between the ages of 4-6 years who were born <32 weeks gestational age. Their goal is to understand differences in the brain and attention skills in children born very preterm. Involvement includes a few visits to the hospital, and you will be compensated for your time. Grief is a powerful emotion. Humans are social creatures and the bonds that we create with the things and the people that we love are strong and meaningful. Many of us are feeling grief and/or loss as a result of the pandemic; whether it be losing social connections, employment or income or just the sense of normalcy in our lives. These emotions produced by grieving can be overwhelming and often negatively affect our mental health for a long time. The good news is that it is possible to move forward if you are willing to take the necessary steps. You can rediscover a life full of joy. Researchers from The FAB Study at The University of Queensland (Australia) are exploring factors within the family unit that promote resilience to stress in families with a child born preterm.
