Friends, an important heads up that were making some temporary summertime adjustments over the next couple months! Effective July and August, we will be unable to offer free local pick-up/drop-off on orders in Greater Victoria. Rest assured, this option will resume after the summer months! (Local pick-up will remain available until the end of June.) All online orders placed in July and August will ship once a week, on Wednesdays.... These small adjustments are being made to accommodate time off from our day jobs during the summer months, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding. Hi friends! This is a long one, but stick with us. As we all gradually adjust to the many change facing us as a result of COVID-19 and what our new normal looks like, we wanted to take a moment to provide you with an important update. Theres no question these past months have impacted all the ways we live and do business. One of the challenges we along with others are currently facing is a widespread shortage of packaging and ingredients. While its amazing to imagin...e that part of the reason for this is the surge in demand for locally-produced goods, it has presented some new and unexpected difficulties for us in being able to keep our stock replenished. We assure you were keeping a very close eye on our packaging and ingredient suppliers to make sure we can restock as soon as items become available. Weve also been looking at what other options there may be, such as temporarily switching to different packaging and purchasing packaging from other suppliers. Unfortunately we arent the only ones with this strategy, and packaging options across the board are now likewise in short supply. What does it all mean? Regrettably, for the interim, it means you may see some of our inventory dwindle and become unavailable depending on when were able to secure packaging. We dont know how long this shortage will last and how it will impact us and other body care businesses like ours, but we are continuing to look at the feasibility of what other creative solutions we can come up with based on the duration of this challenge. We recognize that it can be a pain when a product you love suddenly becomes unavailable, so please, if youre in a bind, drop us a line at [email protected], and well see if theres some way we can help. For Victoria folks, The Market Stores Millstream Market location is also currently stocked up with all your favourites! In the meantime, we just want you to know how exceedingly grateful we are for the kindness and support you continue to show us, especially during the unusual circumstances of these past several months. For all of us, COVID-19 has demanded that we adapt to new ways and circumstances, and while it can be challenging at times, it also means the space to grow and be creative. While the pandemic has made it so that were unable to get our hands on some of our usual packaging, we thought this might be a great opportunity to experiment with different variations, including switching some of our plastic packaging to glass. Weve been contemplating the idea of switching to glass wher...e possible for awhile now, looking at the advantages (100% recyclable, less permeable! ) versus disadvantages (heavier, more breakable ). So on that note, you may begin to start seeing some of our products, beginning with our Naked Solstice Facial Serum, packaged in glass as we determine if the switch will work for us long-term. Face scrubs can be a lovely addition to your skincare routine when used mindfully. The gentle exfoliating properties of our Dark Goddess and Citrus Goddess sugar scrubs can be effective in sloughing away flakiness and build-up to smooth the skins surface and help clear the complexion. Our favorite way to use our sugar scrubs is during our morning shower rub a small-sized scoop between your fingers and very gently massage into your face for just 10 to 15 seconds or so. Ge...ntleness is the absolute key here you want to use very minimal pressure so as not to scratch or irritate your skin while the sugar crystals dissolve in the warm water. Follow with your favorite cleanser to remove any lingering ingredients. Those with more sensitive, trouble-prone skin are probably best to avoid applying scrubs to the face. Instead, gently massage into your body to remove dead skin cells, minimize ingrown hairs and stimulate circulation!
