The Association of British Columbia Deans of Education (ABCDE) presented a TEACHER EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR Award to Dr. Kimberly Franklin, former Dean of Education in Trinity Western Universitys School of Education on Friday, May 4th 2018. Dr. Franklin has provided exceptional mentoring leadership to teacher candidates and faculty members. She has also overseen two additions to the TWU programIndigenous Education and Gender Issues. Dr. Franklin is strongly committed to teachin...g, research and mentoring and she has set high standards for faculty members who prepare and enable teachers for K-12 schools. Dr. Franklin has also played a key role in helping ABCDE and the B.C. Teacher Regulation Branch to refine policies and procedures for reviewing teacher education programs in the province. The Deans List Reception was last Thursday, March 15th. All full-time students that achieved a 3.60 or higher grade point average were presented a certificate of recognition. 6 students were further recognized who achieved a 4.30 or higher grade point average. Two of the six were from the School of Education- congratulations Katie Flarion and Jordyn Piercy!
