Ono ) featured on This Week at University of British Columbia : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KmDoi0o0rk&feature=youtu.be Dr. Dianne Newbury of Oxford Brookes University will present her study of a unique Chilean population who inhabit the Robinson Crusoe Island. Colonised in 1876 by 64 individuals, about 60% of the island’s children were found to be affected by #language disorder. ... Dr. Newbury’s team has been working with researchers from Universidad de Chile and with the Islanders to discover #genetic variants that might explain the unusually high incidence of language impairment, including rare variants in the NFXL1 gene.
