** Creative Healing Ritual and Arts Based Support for BIPOC Survivors ** Please see the information below regarding an SVPRO (Sexual Violence, Prevention, and Response Office) workshop series that is being facilitated for indigenous students, black students, and people of colour. ... "4 virtual arts-based and therapeutic oriented workshops facilitated by Sandra Suasnabar Alberco, an Indigenous, migrant and queer women of Peruvian Andean descendant, Expressive Arts therapist and Counsellor. This is a closed group and registration will be required. If interested, please get in touch with us even if the group has already started! The 4 workshops series will be facilitated from an Indigenous healing and wellness approach to Expressive Arts therapy. We will invite and welcome our personal and collective resiliency to guide us every step of the way, this workshop will be our opportunity to honour our healing journeys in a virtual community. The arts-based processes will be facilitated in a way that the engagement in the arts becomes an opportunity to step into a resource and ritual oriented process. You do not need to have an artistic background to participate and/or register in these series of virtual groups. The workshops are aimed to strengthen our voices, creativity, resiliency and healing by providing a safe and structured space to explore with the arts. Participants will be guided from the beginning of this workshop series to expand on their creative interests by making nourishing pieces of artwork such as a poem, story, talisman, weave drawing and/ or visual art pieces, as works of significance to take away. Before we all gather in our first virtual group, the facilitator will connect with the registered participants (individually) to answer any questions and get to know the participants before the workshops. We truly look forward to meeting you all!" - Your IPS team UBC Okanagan Students UBC Okanagan Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office
