This past fall, staff at the University of Regina's Ta-tawâw Student Centre made changes to the Glen Anaquod Memorial Tipi Raising Competition which allowed people to participate from their homes. The event typically brings over 30 teams and 1,000 spectators to the Dr. Lloyd Barber Academic Green, but this year’s event looked a little different. Dakota/Lakota artist Holly Yuzicapi was the winner in the Women’s category, setting up a tipi completely on her own. In this time-lapse video, Yuzicapi demonstrates extraordinary strength and determination as she raises her tipi independently.
