Congratulations to Daniel Laforest on publishing his new book Roland Topor et le cinéma! In this book Daniel Laforest offers the first examination of the life and work of Roland Topor in relation to cinema and the film industry. Roland Topor was a French illustrator, cartoonist, comics artist, painter, novelist, playwright, film and TV writer, filmmaker and actor. Inspired by the franco-belgian tradition or dark humor, his drawings and illustrations became world-famous due to their surreal nature and their omnipresence in media over the past 50 years. He co-created the classic science-fiction film La planète sauvage (Fantastic Planet) which remains one of the only feature-length cartoons to win at the Cannes Festival. This book is part of the series Le cinéma des poètes
