The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the largest ObGyn Department in Canada, with over 70 residents and 60 fellows currently completing their training under the guidance of almost 300 faculty members. Each of our trainees brings with them an amazing amount of skills and dedication that makes our Department shine on a local, national and international-level. We wanted to share some of our trainees' stories to showcase why they are the best in their field! Our first ...trainee is Dr. Rachel Soyoun Kim, a fellow in our Gynaecologic Oncology Fellowship Program. Dr. Kim was recently published in the prestigious medical journal "Cancer" for her work on research surrounding Lynch syndrome in women with ovarian cancer. Congratulations Dr. Kim! Dr. Shira Gold, resident at the University of Toronto's Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is the mastermind behind the group Pregnancy During COVID-19, a w...eekly virtual session for parents delivering at Mount Sinai Hospital. The goal is to provide information on delivering during a pandemic while easing any anxieties. Shira has done so much work for the group, all while on parental leave herself -she has a four month old baby at home!- Dr. Beverly Young, Perinatal Mental Health Program, Mount Sinai Hospital.
