As we are very unfortunately no longer at the market during the lockdown, Mike is returning to Boutique Step Up in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Center! Wednesday...s 3-6pm Saturdays 10am-2pm We are working hard to find a solution for our community to continue offering quality skate sharpening services through these difficult times. We understand this is much-needed service to our local skaters who are enjoying outdoor ice throughout the lockdown! Due to the extra care and time Mike spends on skates that have been on outdoor ice, we will be charging $8.00 for every pair of skates, cash only please. Mike’s 40+ years of experience means every sharpening is that of quality and excellence. LOCKDOWN PROCESS: Park at the Gallery & Brew Shop entrance of the Hanmer Valley shopping center Text Mike at 705-665-8866 and he will meet you inside the mall entrance to grab your skates, you don't have to wait in the cold. To our Valley East Skating Families! If you are doing any outdoor skating, you can get your skate sharpened here! You can also email Northern Skating Academy to arrange a time to drop the skates off in the valley!

As per provincial lockdown guidelines we will not be able to start our skating season as planned on January 28th. We have hope to run a skating season this year and we will adjust dates/weeks as we have more information. Once we know if we are allowed to reopen we will post details. The Valley East Skating Club is honored to receive the Skate Ontario CanSkate Excellence - Advanced Standard rating for our CanSkate Program. Advanced Standard means a club/school has demonstrated that their CanSkate program has exceeded all the CanSkate standard guidelines as set by Skate Canada, and has put extra effort into offering an exceptional program for their athletes. We strive for excellence in all of our programs, and have been at the forefront of program develo...pment throughout the years. Thank you to our amazing team of CanSkate coaches, and our dedicated program assistants who make our CanSkate program the wonderful learning environment that it is! In good times and not so good times Delta Bingo and Gaming supports our community organizations. This month they are having a Community Food Drive. Donate a non-perishable food item and bring it to a Delta location near you for a chance to win a 65" Samsung TV!
