The Minister of Higher Education has confirmed that the English Exit Exam planned for Dec. 16, 2020 has been cancelled. Exceptionally, the exam will not be required for the DEC diploma for any of the following: 1. Students graduating at the end of the Fall 2020 semester; or 2. Any students who have already completed the three required English courses (603-101-MQ, 603-102-MQ and 603-103-MQ) and who were eligible to write the exam this December but who are not graduating this Fall 2020 semester; or 3. Any students who were eligible to write the exam this December, therefore having passed two English courses, 603-101-MQ and (603-102-MQ or 603-103-MQ), and are registered in the third (603-102-MQ or 603-103-MQ, depending on the sequence), with the condition of obtaining a passing grade for the 603-103-MQ course; or 4. Vanier College Seeks a Parent Member for its Board of Directors Vanier College is actively seeking a parent member to serve a two-year term on Vanier College’s Board of Directors. This is a tremendous opportunity to get involved in decisions that affect your child’s education, and collaborate with a broad cross-section of other Board members representing industry, faculty, staff, administration, alumni and students. The Board is the governing body of the College and is compos...ed of 19 members who serve on a voluntary basis. The Board of Directors meets approximately six times per academic year on Tuesday evenings and oversees certain college operations, establishes major college policies, and develops academic and related plans. To be eligible, you must have a son or daughter who is currently enrolled full-time at Vanier College, and not be an employee of the College. A parent wishing to be considered is invited to submit a statement of interest describing their intent and experience (150 words maximum) including the name of their child attending Vanier College, before Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at 4 p.m. Parents may also be required to present themselves for election by their peers, depending on response rates.
