In February of 1992, Betty Fata, one of the founding members and driving forces behind Venue West Conferences Services, became president of the International Association of Professional Conference Organisers (IAPCO). - She was only the second woman and the first Canadian in this role. Being located in #Vancouver, she could not have been further from the Association’s secretariat, but Betty was tackling her term in office with a jet-setting spirit and went to Europe whenever ...she was needed for IAPCO business or to represent the #Association on the world #congress arena.
