Thank you to the Verona Lions Club, KFLA Public Health, South Frontenac Township, and Rod Pritchard from Hartington Equipment for all the help with our Drive Thru Flu Shot clinic yesterday! 402 pokes -- a new record. It was so much fun, that we're going to run another one ... Saturday Nov 14th from 11am to 2pm.

Another country doctor weighing in on questionable benefit of the trivalent (3 strain) high dose shot over the quadrivalent (4 strain) regular dose. See you at the Lions Hall! Here's hoping for another beautiful day!

Remember our Drive Thru Flu Shot clinic tomorrow (Thursday) at the Lions Hall ballfield and pavilion from 1-6pm. Please remember to bring your health card, a mask, and wear a short sleeved shirt. We will have only the regular flu shot available, i.e. no high-dose flu shots. The regular flu shot protects against 4 strains of influenza, whereas the high-dose protects against only 3. When it comes to flu protection, sooner is better than later, so it might not be worth waiting for one of the few high-dose shots. We will not be ready before 1pm, so please do not start lining up early. We will not run out this year, so if the line is long, please consider coming back later.

Good news, folks. If you have symptoms that could be COVID, the COVID assessment centres are now able to book you into a same day or next day appointment, and the results of your swab are available in about 24 hours.
