We will have some beverages available by donation, towards the lovely acoustic guitar sounds of Craig Stephens, but also you are welcome to byob. I'm so happy to finally see this student mural up at Thomas A Stewart Secondary School! The project was spearheaded by the amazingly talented and all 'round wo...nderful art teacher, Angie Zavitz, who has taught at Lakefield College, TASS, and Adam Scott, who called upon me to assist her, her students and a few fellow teachers to paint this uplifting and diverse artwork reflecting all TASS has to offer. It was finished just as the schools were shut down due to the Covid-19 outbreak, but it was just hung last Friday, with the official press unveiling yesterday. Watch for the upcoming article in the Examiner featuring info about the artistic influences, the subtle and meaningful symbols, participating student artists, and the people featured and honoured in this jubilant massive work of art. Thank you so much, Angie, for the pleasure of working on another wonderful mural project with you and your students!

Monday - closed Tuesday - 10am to 4pm Wednesday - 10am to 4pm Thursday - 10am to 6pm Friday - 10am to 6pm Saturday - 10am to 3pm Sunday - closed To accommodate the *new normal*, we will only be allowing one customer in the store at a time. However, we will allow up to 3 people in the store at the same time, provided they are from the same "herd" or "bubble". ARTISTIC DISTRACTIONS! Week 1 - Day 5 Inspired by a friend’s mention of doing this for herself to improve her hand-drawing skills, I’m asking you to do a study... of your hand each day for this first week. I would LOVE for you to post your studies right here for all to see. I’ll do one a day, too. You can do them in any size, in any media, on any surface. For example, you can use ink a pen or marker, any colour, charcoal, pastels, crayons, pencil/graphite, pencil crayons, paint of any kind: oil, acrylic, watercolour, etc., water-soluble pencils...the list is endless whatever you’ve got, use it! On paper, wood, canvas,...anything! Even photos taken with your phone would be cool, but try to change them a little in an app or with edits, etc. K? Be your funny, silly, brilliant self! Don’t over-think it! Just sit there, and, while you're having your coffee/wine/tea/beer look at your hand and draw it! Here’s my day 5 offering: acrylic on watercolour paper, reinterpreted pic from a ROM promo flyer from last year's "It's Alive!" Exhibition Please post your creations! I don’t care if you think it’s hideous or a masterpiece - Show me whatcha got! (i'm curious to see if anyone participates!)
