Update: The Village Office has been without internet for the last 3 days due to the storm on Tuesday night frying something in our connection. We have finally gotten a temporary fix through someone local by the name of Doug Brierley. (THANK YOU!!!) This is why administration has not responded to any emails for the last 3 days. We will try to get through everything today. Hopefully Xplornet can fix the hardware issue soon.

Sidewalks: The village office has received some inquiries recently regarding sidewalks, so an update to the full community is likely warranted. A company was contracted this spring to do a full assessment on all our sidewalks. This was conducted in early June by someone walking everywhere in Breton and taking pictures. The 100 page written report was received on June 30th. It included a trip hazard report, replacements required, lifting required, etc. Public Works and ...administration reviewed the report and some actions were taken immediately such as grinding of trip hazards. Bylaw also went around to check for overhanging trees and shrubs that are impeding pedestrian traffic. We are also checking out pricing for sections of sidewalk needing replacements. Additionally some sections are scheduled for "lifting" so water will no longer pool on them. To this end, administration has applied for $90,000 of grant funding to do the majority of these smaller work projects over the next three years. The larger projects will be incorporated into the road plans which an engineer is already working on. Hope this answers some of your questions. See more
