We are so grateful for these DTES Warriors!! Kat Norris led a beautiful Ceremony on a brisk sunny winter day down in Lek’Leki supported by Heather Lamoureux. We honoured: ... ~Veronica Butler for her never-ending support in the DTES as Kat says Veronica is always there when you call on her and the last to leave to make sure everything is done ~Don Larson for his work with the CRAB Park Society since the 1980’s! ~Erica Grant for her heartfelt work to feed the DTES throughout COVID ~John Sam for always showing up and giving music medicine to the DTES community with his drum group ~Christopher Ukws K'ots Livingstone for his healing work with houseless people in the DTES and his advocacy for a DTES healing space in CRAB Park ~ Wendy Pederson for who has supported DTES folks rights for housing, street markets, art and more! We celebrated with some amazing Pow Wow Dancing from dancers Pavel Tourangeau Nyla Carpentier Larissa Healey Winita Mee Jon Daniels. and songs of the drum by John Wolf S & Love Medicine Thank you to Kat Norris, Cook Jeff Whitedeer, Heart of City and Vines Team for bringing this all together!
