I had fear of the unknown, and how laser eye surgery would work. The absolute last straw was having to wear a mask at work with glasses on due to Covid-19. Healthy exposure to sunlight can have positive effects, as long as you protect your eyes. A little natural light every day can help you sleep well. Thats because the light-sensitive cells in our eyes play an important role in our bodys natural wake-sleep cycles. Spending time outdoors in the daylight and exercising is great for eye health. Just dont forget those hats and sunglasses!

I contemplated for a long time because I was worried about the long term side effects. Besides all the annoying things we all know about glasses, I think it was seeing and hearing from other people who had the procedure done at Vivid Laser Eye Centre 10-15 years ago and their eyes are still good. "I was primarily a contact lens wearer, only using my glasses at bedtime. Then my glasses broke and I knew it was finally time to get laser eye surgery. I had been wanting to do if for years and kept putting off. It was hard to justify paying that kind of money when I felt my contacts worked. Also, as a parent of three kids, it felt selfish to spend that kind of money on myself. I used Google to get info about where to go. There are so many places that I could have chose...n. I didnt like the idea of traveling to make things even more complicated by traveling for the surgery. My decision was finalized when I asked our family eye doctor who he would recommend. He said go to Vivid. So, I did. The biggest change is being able to see the time on my alarm clock in the morning! I also love not having to put my fingers in my eye twice a day and having that thick gummy feeling from dry contact lenses at the end of the day. Its going to be so nice camping next summer and not having to change out of my contact lenses with grimy hands in the dark with a flashlight!! I do need reading glasses more than I did before the procedure, which can be annoying, but its still worth it. Dont wait until youre 45, like I did. Do it sooner. I was very tired of glasses and the hassle of cleaning them. Glasses are also very inconvenient and I was always having to be mindful while snowboarding or scuba diving. I did have some fear of having accidental, permanent eye damage. But laser eye surgery has changed my lifestyle so much for the better. I find that the things I like to do are much easier, like running. As uncomfortable as I found the procedure, the results far out way the discomfort I felt before and d...uring the surgery. I definitely wasnt comfortable with the sales pitch approach I experienced at the other clinics I visited. "I am so freaking stoked on my sight!!! I have a moment every few days of incredible thankfulness. Biggest one is to be able to wake up in the middle of the night to use the head (I work on a sailboat) and seeing the most incredible night sky of stars. Hearing about the benefits of Lasik surgery is what prompted me to go ahead with the surgery, and the fact that the success rates for laser treatment is so high. Plus, Vivid had really great reviews from everything I had researched. The price held me back somewhat, but there is also financing which is great for those who cant quite afford a lump sum. The procedure has changed my life immensely for the good. My vision is better now than it was with glasses or contacts, an...d I dont have to worry about putting them on in the morning, making sure they are clean, packing them on trips, etc. I feel more confident and natural with myself. After my eyes stabilized enough I went ahead with laser eye surgery as I was tired of squinting to see everything in the distance and always wearing glasses for driving and watching TV.
