Update: the fawn worsened on Saturday and the decision was made to humanely euthanize her. The mule deer is looking a bit better, but still not able/willing to stand. She continues to get excellent care at the Moose Jaw Animal Clinic

Busy day today. A Hairy Woodpecker was brought to the Moose Jaw Animal Clinic after being found injured. We assume he was recovering from a window strike, as he quickly made a full recovery and was released back at 15 Wing.

A lot of people have coordinated to try to help this fawn and give it a second chance - from the Regina Conservation Officers to Salthaven West to WRSOS volunteers to the Moose Jaw Animal Clinic staff. The fawn was found flat out in her side with a front leg that was swelling due to some scar tissue constricting it. Surgery was done to remove the ring of scar tissue and now we wait to see if the swelling in the foot goes down overnight.

We were called out to rescue this short eared owl a few days ago when she was seen among some straw swaths. Tik Tok broke some wing bones, but we are hopeful that they can heal well. This one has a very good appetite, which is great to see.
