Hi everyone! Claire here...I just wanted to make a little announcement: Yesterday I was walking Lexi, didn’t see the ice under the snow, fell on my arm, broke my wrist and dislocated my elbow. I spent all day at the hospital yesterday. Phew! Now I’m back home and I’ll be hibernating (like Lexi in the picture ) until I get better. Everything is slippery around here. Please bare with me if I’m slow at responding to emails or texts...I’m right handed and of course, that’s the... arm I can’t use for a while! Trying to do everything with my left hand is a bit more challenging. I’m ok though and getting all the help I need! Stay safe everyone...once I get better, I’ll be back in full force!

Muzzling is for good dogs! I have encouraged many of my clients to condition their dog to a muzzle throughout the years. For some reason, a muzzle is seen as "something for dangerous dogs". Not so! Congrats to little Nugget for completing the WAGPups private program! He was always so motivated! A super happy little pup. His last session took place at Canadian Tire (one that is dog-friendly) mainly because it was so cold outside! Nugget did great and even scored a good massage from a little girl who wanted to say hello to him. . If you have a young dog, it is a good idea to challenge yourself and take your pup on short trips, like a visit to a store (other than ...a pet store). Practise simple skills with him, like walking on leash, Sit, or even teach him how to greet people calmly and without jumping. The goal is to expose your pup to your world, while making sure he is comfortable with the environment. Keep sessions short and fun! Bring a favorite toy and yummy little treats ! Oh, and be sure to bring some backups in case of little accidents (I usually carry paper towel and my trusted EZ-Clean bioenzyme spray in my bag). . When I was teaching my puppy classes (pre-COVID), I used to organize outdoor puppy classes in various stores. It was fun! Socialization is primordial to a young pup: it is the key to creating a confident dog who will bounce back faster when exposed to unknown situations, and before they become teenagers! Looking for a cute pup? This little one is still impounded and not yet available for adoption but will soon be if no owner is found. Keep an eye on their adoption page where she will be added as soon as her assessment test is done! Did you know? There are quite a few dogs & cats that will soon be available for adoption at the City of Calgary' Animal Services Centre. They are located at 2201 Portland Street SE in Calgary. I just wish they'd let me foster this little one, s...o I can at least start her puppy socialization... I called the City's Animal Services, and they do not foster out their pups ... so I am putting her here, on WAGDogs' page, hoping she will find her home as soon as she's up for adoption!
