Tugboat Captain Wainwright Marine Services Ltd. ________________________________________ Wainwright Marine Services Ltd. is looking to fill the position of a Tugboat Captain. This position is primarily responsible for the safe operation of the vessel and will direct the day to day operations as well as co-ordinate the onboard activities of the boat crew. The qualified recipient should be familiar with loading/offloading procedures.... Observe all PPE & Safety Requirements of Wainwright Marine Services Ltd. Safe/timely docking and undocking. Responsible for the safety of the crew members working aboard the tugboat & barges. This position needs to possess leadership skills while also being able to work as a team to ensure the smooth functioning of the tugboat operations. Complete pre-shift checklists and monitor operation of tugboat Adjust navigation according to weather conditions. Comply with all provincial and federal regulatory requirements Steer and operate vessels, using radios, radars, lights, buoys Coordinate with Port Authority and other agencies as necessary Be comfortable tying up alongside ships with heavy ropes/lines prior to beginning work. Organizing & manifesting all waste/product offloaded by the vessel while in port. Qualifications Valid Operator license for 60 Tonne Tugboat Position requires physical labour (carrying, lifting, dragging, pushing, pulling) Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to work independently, and maintain accurate record keeping of work performed. Ability to operate a forklift an asset. Ability to complete routine maintenance considered an asset.
