Walkable Edmonton 14.12.2020

Today, we are saying a very heartfelt thank you to Sarah Hoyles, the Creative Director and connector extraordinaire behind The Weekly and Walkable Edmonton's content over the last many years. Sarah has done an incredible job bringing you a consistency and depth of knowledge that she has for our local community and events, which I know all of us subscribers and followers are so grateful for. Every week Sarah has delighted us with the content of The Weekly, with the beauty she ...captures in photos, and the hidden gems that she finds in day-to-day walkable Edmonton. Like you, I absolutely love our content and believe in what we stand for - celebrating the richness of our local culture and the people who make Edmonton such an incredible place to live, and Sarah has been an integral part of bringing that to life in Walkable Edmonton. For the last two months, I, like you, hoped with my whole heart that this pandemic would simply pack up and leave, but as it has stayed, we have realized some changes in our world... changes that meant re-focusing our priorities, our lifestyle, and, in very practical terms, some of the luxuries that we had like the incredible talent of Sarah Hoyles. COVID-19 has made my family take pause, and re-evaluate our once never-ending desire to build and innovate, with always expanding budgets and marketing, and shift to a simpler, more focused life. As Sarah has been a part of our work-family for so many years, it was anything but easy to make the decision to shift Walkable Edmonton back to its original tiny roots, as a real estate agent, my photographer husband Ferdinand, our daughter, and our two welsh terriers, setting out to make a difference in our city. Walkable Edmonton will still be here, but in a different form, over the next weeks and months to come, as we figure out what our new lives will look and feel like. We will continue to celebrate the richness of our community, featuring the businesses and local spots that we love, and will share our family's day-to-day activities, living the life we believe in. We don't know exactly what this will look like, or how exactly it will look for The Weekly and our different feeds, but we will keep you posted as we figure out our path forward. We value all of our local followers, readers, and fellow community members' support, and we hope that our new path will be something that you enjoy as well. A very huge thank you again to Sarah for all she has done for us and the Walkable Edmonton community.
