If there was a Bentley of smoothing planes... This would be it!!! Over the moon with this Jatoba and Pear smoother from Robert @robertallanwhelan . The grain selection, execution and construction are nothing short of spectacular. From the packaging/presentation of it in its box to all the sweet little details like the relief carving on the ramp to the carved thumb and index finger grips and just an overall great feeling plane. Its not all looks either... This thing perform...s right out of the box producing a super smooth surface ready for finish. I wish my phone could capture the surface better. Robert is a shop teacher up in Edmonton and attended the Inside Passage school of fine woodworking that focuses on the teachings of the late great James Krenov. If youre not already following Robert... Get on it. Thank you so much Robert!
